Peatland knowledge shared across Europe

Expertise developed in our region, to restore areas of peatland, has been shared Europe-wide.

The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the largest upland peatland in England. But the moorlands have been drying out.

A restoration programme has been taking place to combat that. Now the man in charge of that work has attended a conference in Brussels, to talk about its success.
