A convicted killer has received compensation after complaining that some of his belongings had been lost or broken in jail.
Kevan Thakrar was sent to Frankland Prison in Durham after he and his brother killed three men and attempted to kill others.
A judge ruled the 26-year-old should be given the cash, because his prison officers had lost the items, and not apologised to him.
But Thakrar's former prison guard says that is ridiculous.
Craig Wylde was attacked by him in Frankland Prison, and nearly died from the injuries, although Thakrar was found not guilty of attempted murder and wounding with intent in relation to the prison incident.
