Fans and families made to wait for hours outside Newcastle Comic Convention

Queues for a film and comic convention stretched around the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle as families were made to wait for hours to go in.

Fans on social media complained that their children were in tears and some had left the Newcastle Film and Comic Con without ever getting inside - even though they had bought tickets in advance.

A spokesperson from Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena said selling tickets and managing the event was the responsibility of the promoter, not the arena's management.
