Man indecently exposed himself to Gateshead teen

Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was approached by a man in Gateshead who made inappropriate comments before exposing himself to her.

It happened just before 7pm on Wednesday 22 January at a bus stop in Whickham Highway, near to the Nightside Gardens junction.

The 16-year-old girl then ran off and contacted police.

The man is described as:

• In his mid 20s
• Around 5 feet 7 inchest tall
• Of slim build
• Short dark hair
• Wearing a blue hooded top, black trousers and black shoes

From the bus stop the man could have got onto the 97 service heading to Newcastle or the 69 service to Wardley.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area, and who might have seen anything, to contact them on the 101 non-emergency number.
