African warlord reportedly held in County Durham jail
An African warlord sentenced to fifty years in prison after a trial in the Hague is reportedly serving his sentence in County Durham.
The former Liberian president Charles Taylor was charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity at a trial in 2007.
His wife claims he is being held at HMP Frankland, the maximum security prison on the outskirts of Durham City.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said it could not confirm the locations of any individual prisoners.
