X Factor Abi "amazed" by local support
Abi Alton, from Guisborough in North Yorkshire, has thanked the people of the North East for supporting her on The X Factor. She was evicted from the show last Sunday.

A friend of Abi Alton has tweeted a message from the Alton family. In it, Abi's parents, Paul and Sharon, thank fans for voting for their daughter and showing concern when she was taken to hospital.
The message reads:
"Thank you all for your kind words and support, it means so much to us. Abi was a superstar as always...thank you all so much for voting. Thanks also for your concerns about Abi and her trip to hospital - thankfully she is well, no damage done - hey the kid from Teesside and made of strong stuff!!"
