An 18-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after being stabbed in South Shields.
25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault
Police investigating a serious assault in South Shields last night have made an arrest.
An 18-year-old woman was taken to South Tyneside Hospital with stab wounds.
A short time later police were called to a disturbance at the hospital.
Officers arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assault.
