Fatal crash on A1 motorway
Police are appealing for information after a fatal crash this morning in which a man died of his injuries. The crash happened on the A1 near to Felton.
Man named in fatal A1 crash
Police have named a man who died after a crash on the A1 near Felton yesterday (November 12th) as Nigel Sowerby.
The 37-year-old from Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire was involved in a collision involving three vehicles on the A1 near Felton shortly before eight o'clock in the morning on November 12th.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance, but subsequently died of his injuries.
A 49-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have any information, to contact them on 101.
