Police are appealing for information after a fatal crash on the A1 near to Felton in Northumberland that happened shortly before eight o'clock this morning (November 12th).
Three vehicles were involved in the collision where a man died - a BMW, a VW van and a Citroen car.
The driver of the VW van was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance, but subsequently died of his injuries.
A passenger in the VW van was taken to Wansbeck Hospital, where it is believed he is not suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the BMW also suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Citroen was unhurt.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
