Flash flooding hits Tyne & Wear
Torrential downpours have led to flash flooding in many parts of Tyneside and Wearside.
Floods close Newcastle central motorway
The southbound lane of the central motorway in Newcastle has been closed because of flooding. The area affected is near the junction with the coast road.
Northumbria Police say diversions are in operation.
