James Arthur thanks fans after missing out on Brit

Saltburn singer James Arthur has tweeted his thanks to fans after missing out on a Brit Award. The X Factor winner was up for Best Video and Best Single for his song Say You Won't Let Go.

Brit Awards: Little Mix win 'Best British Single'

Little Mix have won 'Best British Single' tonight at the Brit Awards.

Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, both from South Tyneside, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock make up the four-piece act.

They picked up an award for their hit single 'Shout out to my Ex'.

Northumberland's Matt Healy bags a Brit Award with band The 1975

Northumberland-born Matt Healy has bagged a Brit Award, scooping 'Best British Group' with his band The 1975.

Frontman of the Indie-pop group urged musicians to use their "platform" during the band's victory speech.

"I just wanna say, at the moment, I think people in pop music and in the broader public consciousness are told to stay in your lane, stay in your lane when talking about social issues.

But if you have a platform don't do that, please don't do that."

The Manchester-formed band beat Radiohead, Bastille, Little Mix and Biffy Clyro to win their first Brit Award.

Matt Healy is the son of Geordie celebrities Denise Welsh and Tim Healy.
