Schools disrupted as teaching assistants' strike continues
Dozens of schools around County Durham will be fully or partially closed again on Wednesday, as a strike by teaching assistants continues.
Around 100 schools were disrupted on Tuesday, as unions estimated more than 1,000 TAs took part in the walkout in a dispute over pay.
Some teaching assistants say they could lose nearly a quarter of their salaries, under plans to pay them for term-time only.
Durham County Council insists it must make the contract changes to avoid equal pay claims from other staff.
