Five horses killed in Sunderland fire
Five horses have died in a fire at a stable block in Sunderland.
Fire crews were called out early on April 20 after a fire in Coxgreen Road, New Penshaw.

Investigation launched into stable fire
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have launched an investigation into the cause of a blaze at a stable block in Houghton-le-Spring today (Monday, April 20).
The service received a call at 4.55 am to say the stable block housing 20 horses at Station Road Stables, Coxgreen Road, New Penshaw was on fire.
Two fire engines and a risk assessment vehicle attended. Fifteen horses were led to safety by stables staff and neighbours, but five other horses died in the fire.
Group Manager John Allison, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Our deepest sympathies go out to the owners of the horses that tragically died in this fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation."
