Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in North Shields

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in North Shields.

The victim, 43-year-old Uriel Moskwa, was found with a wound to his thigh on Aldwych Drive, on Saturday. He died later in hospital.

Scott Jefferson, 22, from Stanley Street in Wallsend, appeared before North Tyneside Magistrates today charged with his murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on October 3rd.

A 22-year-old woman arrested in connection with the murder of a man in North Shields has been bailed.

Uriel Moskwa, 43, died in hospital after being stabbed in the thigh on Alydwich Drive in North Shields on the morning of Saturday, September 27.

Two men, aged 27 and 21, are also on bail pending further enquiries.

A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with information on the incident, which happened at around 2.30am on Aldwych Drive, to come forward.

43-year-old Uriel Moskwa died in hospital on Saturday morning shortly after being stabbed in the thigh on Alydwich Drive.

Two men arrested yesterday, a 27-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of GBH, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A man and woman, both aged 22, arrested on suspicion of murder, remain in police custody.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed in North Shields.

This brings the total number of arrests in connection to the incident to four.

All of those arrested remain in police custody.

Northumbria Police say they are not in a position to name the 43-year-old man who died.

Two men arrested after stabbing in North Shields

Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed in North Shields early on Saturday morning.

The 43-year-old was taken to hospital with a wound to his thigh but died later in the morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Musgrove, from Northumbria Police's Major Crime Team, said: "Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

"We know it will cause concern in the community but I'd like to reassure residents that we believe all those involved were known to each other and we have made two arrests.

"We'll also have extra officers on patrol in the area and I'd ask anyone with concerns or issues to speak to them.

"I'd appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they could have information vital to our investigation."

Murder investigation underway after North Shields stabbing

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man who was stabbed in North Shields.

Police received a report of a man with a knife threatening another man on Aldwych Drive at about 2.30 on Saturday morning.

When they arrived officers found a 43-year-old man with a stab wound to his thigh.

He was taken to North Tyneside Hospital but was pronounced dead at later in the morning.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of GBH.

Both are currently helping police with enquiries.
