Newcastle University's security eyes scheme halves thefts on campus

Scientists from Newcastle University have come up with a new way to help people to keep a constant eye on their valuables.

The scheme has already helped to halve the number of bicycle thefts from their campus in Newcastle city centre.

The idea is that posters showing a pair of eyes which appear to watch your every move will stop people from stealing.

The idea started as a research project and it is now being rolled out across the campus.
