Happy Days as 'The Fonz' inspires youngsters on Tyneside
Actor Henry Winkler is best known for his role as 'The Fonz' in the popular seventies comedy Happy Days.
But the actor's school days themselves were far from happy. He struggled academically and felt pressure from his teachers and family.
It wasn't until he was 31 that he finally discovered why he found things so tough, he was Dyslexic.
Since then he's gone on to write more than 20 children's books based on his own experience of growing up with learning difficulties.
Now he's on a nationwide tour in conjunction with the children's newspaper FirstNews and the charity Achievement for All 3A's encouraging young people not to let anything stand in their way.
"My entire objective is to go into a school and tell each child in all of Great Britain no matter how they learn they are brilliant."
The Fonz himself, Henry Winkler, has spent the day talking to schoolchildren about how they can overcome learning difficulties.
The actor, who has also published more than 20 children's books, is dyslexic and hopes his own story will inspire other youngsters.
