General Election 2024: Results in full for the North East and North Yorkshire
The election results are in for the North East and North Yorkshire.
The first to declare was Houghton and Sunderland South at 11:13pm - where Labour's win set the tone for the region.
What continued was a near clean sweep for Labour. The party secured every North East seat save for Stockton West, which was retained by the Conservatives.
In North Yorkshire the former Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, held onto his position as an MP while York Outer turned red alongside Scarborough and Whitby.
Boundary changes, which have affected nearly all constituencies in the region, have seen a reduction in seats from 29 to 27.
