Man charged with murder after death of 59-year-old woman in Barnard Castle

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in County Durham.Emergency services were called to an address at Bowes Lyon Court, Barnard Castle at around 6pm on Saturday 4 March.Jane Collinson, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 60-year-old man was arrested following an investigation by Durham Police.

He is due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 March.
