Arson investigation after cars including Porsche and Land Rover damaged in Middlesbrough fire

An investigation is underway after a car sales room was set alight.

Emergency services were called to the fire in Acklam Road, Middlesbrough at about 9:30pm on Thursday 1 December.

Cleveland Police said high value vehicles involving a Porsche and Land Rover were damaged in the fire, which is being treated as a suspected arson.

Several vehicles were doused in accelerant and set alight, a police spokesperson said.

They added that vehicles worth hundreds and thousands of pounds were damaged.

The suspect - who is described as wearing a light-coloured hooded top, light-coloured joggers and light-coloured Nike TN trainers - then made off along Ullswater Avenue towards Hatfield Avenue/Thirlmere Avenue.
