Services on the Tyne and Wear Metro have been affected due to a road traffic accident.

Emergency services are dealing with the incident.

There are no trains to/ from Brockley Whins and Sunderland.

It's unclear how long the disruption will continue for.

Northern say their train services are also affected between Newcastle and Sunderland due to a level crossing problem.

Bus services are accepting some tickets on their services.
