Parking charges reintroduced at hospitals in North Tees and Hartlepool
A Teesside health care trust is reminding patients that the temporary suspension of parking fees is coming to an end at its hospitals.
Parking fees at the University Hospital of North Tees, the University Hospital of Hartlepool and Peterlee Community Hospital were suspended in April during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
From October 1, fees will apply in all North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust owned car parks.
The initial 20-minutes remains free of charge, as do the pick-up/drop off points and cycle storage racks.
The University Hospital of Hartlepool has one large car park on the grounds of the hospital, while the University Hospital of North Tees has a large on-site car park plus a smaller, second car park adjacent to the hospital on Hardwick Road. The Hardwick Road car park charges £2 for 14-hours, with the first 20-minutes free of charge.
All Trust staff also pay to park in the allocated staff parking areas at both hospitals.
