The British Masters golf tournament is underway at Close House in Northumberland.

It is normally one of the biggest sporting events in the North East, attracting spectators from around the world, with millions more watching on television.

Last time the British Masters came to Close House in 2017 it was a huge event for the region, but on its return, it's all taken on a very different feel.

This year's event is taking place behind closed doors with very little fanfare, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers of the event have said there will be a ''military style'' approach to safety due to the pandemic.

The tournament marks the return of The European Tour to action for the first time since March.
