Book of condolence opened for virus victims in Middlesbrough
A book of condolence has been opened to remember all those in Middlesbrough who have lost their lives to COVID-19.
The latest figures in relation to the global outbreak show that Middlesbrough has recorded:
Middlesbrough Council is now proposing that the town pay tribute to those residents who have lost their life to the devastating virus.
The book of condolence will be online only and will ask Middlesbrough residents to help remind everyone that behind the statistics are people's friends and family members whose "memories should be shared and their stories told".
Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston says the coronavirus pandemic had been a tragic and horrendous time of sacrifice for all.
