Husband serenades wife of 40 years through care home window during lockdown

Not even lockdown could stop David Killins from showing his love for wife Joy.

The pair have been married for nearly 40 years. Mrs Killins is in a care home, and since the start of the coronavirus outbreak, Mr Killins has not been allowed to visit her inside the building.

Instead, he has been serenading her through an open window, to keep them close together while they're apart.

When asked, 'Why serenade Joy?', David replies:

Every fortnight, when David shows up to the care home, it's such an occasion, that staff move Joy to a different room so she has a better view.

Staff at the care home say it has been hard for their residents to adapt to life during lockdown, so David's singing has been "amazing".

David's public displays of affection started during lockdown and will continue until he and Joy are reunited once more.
