Bruce calls for takeover clarity after Newcastle United miss out on FA Cup semi-final spot
Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce says the Premier League need to make a decision on the proposed takeover of the club.
The Magpies are out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 to Manchester City in the sixth round.
Speaking after the tie, Bruce said:
The match was played behind the closed doors of St James' Park as the FA Cup resumed following the coronavirus outbreak.
Newcastle United side conceded a goal in each half, the first a penalty from midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in the 37th minute.
The second goal came from Raheem Sterling, assisted by Phil Foden, in the 68th minute.
Two Newcastle United players were booked during the match, with a yellow card handed to Andy Carroll minutes before he was substituted. Fellow striker Joelinton was also given a yellow card in the second minute of injury time.
Steve Bruce's side have seven fixtures remaining this season, after the Premier League was resumed following the coronavirus outbreak.
Following a disappointing draw against Aston Villa, the Magpies will take on Bournemouth who are currently sitting in the relegation zone.
