Defender Javier Manquillo and striker Andy Carroll have agreed new contracts with Newcastle United.

Former Atlético Madrid defender Manquillo has signed a four-year deal, while Carroll has penned a one-year extension.

These deals come at the same time as a series of player announcements at St James' Park.

Midfielder Matty Longstaff - whose existing deal was also due to expire at the end of the month - has agreed a short-term contract which will run until the end of the current season.

Two of the the Magpies' three on-loan players - Nabil Bentaleb and Danny Rose - will also be staying until the end of the season after extensions were agreed with Schalke 04 and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.

A club spokesman said Newcastle and Inter Milan have agreed in principle to extend Valentino Lazaro's loan until the end of the current season, with documentation to formalise expected to be signed soon.

These agreements means all three players will be available for the rest of the club's league and cup games.

Head coach Steve Bruce said:

Goalkeepers Rob Elliot, midfielder Jack Colback and defender Jamie Sterry, will all leave the club at the end of the month. Also departing will be forward Luke Charman, midfielder Víctor Fernández, defender Liam Gibson and goalkeeper Nathan Harker.
