Man in hospital after 'stabbing' in Alnwick

A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Alnwick.

Emergency services were called to the Pastures area of Alnwick just before 7pm on June 16.

Police cordoned off the Lion Bridge on the on the B6341 as multiple ambulances and the Great North Air Ambulance arrived at the scene.

A 48-year-old man was found suffering with heavy blood loss and was treated by paramedics and a doctor.

He has been taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The man is in a 'serious but non-life threatening' condition.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault.
