Richmond Falls busy all weekend as police try to encourage social distancing

Crowds have gathered at a beauty spot in North Yorkshire as people headed out to enjoy the sunshine.

Lockdown restrictions are still in place, but Richmond Falls was busy all weekend.

The police, the military police and stewards were on duty at the River Swale to try and encourage people to follow social distancing rules.

The council had blocked off Millgate, close to Richmond Market Place, torestrict access to the area - but despite this and the presence of thepolice large numbers of people still accessed the popular site.
