Man, 84, 'devastated' after thief stole his bike and heckled him in South Shields

An older man says he is "devastated" after someone stole his pedal bike and heckled him in South Shields.

The 84-year-old man had left his bike in the Asda car park shed in Boldon Colliery while he went into shop at 3pm on April 27. When he was leaving, a male cycled past him shouting "Cheers, mate".

The victim said he was confused about the comment and it wasn't until he returned to the shed that he realised his bike had been stolen. He said it was his only means of transport and he needs his bike returning.

The bike involved was a black and green Carrera pedal bike.

Police are investigating the theft and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
