Sports activity packs for region's most vulnerable children

Families across Northumberland and Tyne and Wear will soon be receiving free activity packs to encourage vulnerable and isolated children to keep active.

2,500 packs will be distributed to families who are most in need of support. They contain a variety of tools to create outdoor and indoor games. Funding for these has been provided by Sport England and the National Lottery.

Packs include:

  • Bean bags

  • Racquets

  • Skipping rope

  • Soft balls

The Eagles Community Foundation has been thanked for providing access to their arena to allow the packs to be put together. Volunteers used social distancing.
