Man arrested at North Tees hospital for allegedly spitting at ambulance crew
A man has been arrested for allegedly hurling abuse and "spitting" atmedical staff.
Police were called to the University Hospital of North Tees at middayon Thursday after reports of a man being abusive towards ambulancecrew members.
When officers arrived at the Stockton hospital, a 36-year-old man wassoon arrested at the scene.
He is currently in police custody as inquiries into the incident continue.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Police were called bycolleagues from the University Hospital of North Tees at 12pm today,Thursday, April 9.
"It was reported that a man was spitting and being abusive towards theambulance crew."
The force added: "Officers attended the scene and a man, aged 36, wasarrested in connection with the incident and he remains in policecustody."
