Travel disruption as airlines reduce services amid Coronavirus outbreak

Travel operators across the region are reducing their services in light of the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak.

Among those to announce a cut-back service is Eastern Airways. The airline provides flights from both Newcastle and Teesside Airport.

Eastern released the news on their website, citing the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic and was causing a significant fall in the number of bookings for their flights.

As a result, Eastern Airways has amended its flight scheduled for a 26 days.

The move will come into force from Monday 23rd March 2020 and affects flights operating at NEwcastle Airport and Teesside Airport.

The airline added that it is currently experiencing a high volume of calls and enquiries to the Customer Support team.

They are urging travellers to only contact customer services if they are due to travel in the next 72 hours.

The plea is to prioritise customers who require help most urgently.
