FRIDAY NIGHT:
A brief lull during the evening, staying damp and murky over hills. Further outbreaks of rain and strong winds will spread northwards shortly after midnight. A short but intense spell of rain and wind is due during the early hours of Saturday morning. Lows 3°C.
SATURDAY:
Rain and hill snow clears eastwards during the morning. Dry and sunny for a time but showers, wintry and heavy in places, developing in the afternoon, along with very strong winds. Highs 7°C.
Met Office Warnings in place for Pennine rain and then gales developing.
Overnight there is the added risk of ice.
OUTLOOK:
Remaining very windy into early Sunday morning, gusts 60+mph over the Pennines, but winds gradually easing through the day into Monday and Tuesday.
Sunny spells with showers more scattered, with snow falling on hills and a risk of thunder and hail.
