Man who died after becoming trapped under military vehicle at Catterick Garrison named as Alistair Ferguson

The family of a man who died while fixing a military vehicle at Catterick Garrison have paid tribute to their'selfless and loving husband'.

Alistair Fergusson from Richmond died after becoming trapped while carrying out maintenance work on a vehicle. The 58-year-old was given CPR but sadly died at the scene.

It happened at around 9:50am on Saturday 18 January at Piave Lines Barracks at the North Yorkshire Garrison.

His family have released a tribute:

North Yorkshire Police are leading an investigation into the moments leading up to Alistair Ferguson's death.

They're working alongside the Health and Safety Executive.
