Leyburn and Redcar unveiled as host towns for Tour de Yorkshire 2020
The eight host town's for next year's Tour de Yorkshire cycling race have been announced this morning.
Leyburn is making its first appearance as a host location, although the Tour de Yorkshire passed through in 2018, just as the Tour de France did in 2014. The UCI Road World Championships made two visits in 2019.
Redcar is a new host location for 2020 and will be the most northerly location the race has ever visited.
The annual event, which is organised by the tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire, is now ready for the sixth edition. It will take place next year over the Bank Holiday between Thursday 30 April and Sunday 3 May.

The 2019 edition was watched by a record 28 million TV viewers in 190 countries and generated £60 million for the Yorkshire economy.
