The North East celebrates the centenary of artist Norman Cornish
Two new exhibitions celebrating the career of acclaimed County Durham mining artist Norman Cornish are opening this weekend.
One is at the Palace Green Library in Durham, the other at The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle.
The exhibitions are part of the centenary celebrations for one of the North East's most respected and best loved artists.
Norman Cornish was renowned for capturing the everyday scenes of North East life, with a career spanning seven decades.
ITV Tyne Tees reporter Chris Conway went to The Bowes Museum to find out more about the artist and 'The Definitive Collection' of his works.
