Family of Durham student Olivia Burt set up a charity to help promising young students
The parents of a Durham University student say they hope a charity set-up in her memory will allow her spirit to live on.
Olivia Burt was killed when a barrier came down on top of her outside a nightclub in the city last year.
18 months since her death, her family have launched Olivia Inspires - aiming to help other promising young students.
The Burt family says launching the charity will 'give their life some meaning' now she's gone.
In this report, Olivia's father Nigel says they will build their new life around the charity work:
Following her death, Durham University released a statement praising her academic and sporting abilities.
Olivia was part of the British Sailing Team in the European Championships and had sailed for more than a decade, before quickly finding her place in the University team.
