Figures from the world of music and the arts have paid tribute, to the historian and programme-maker Chris Phipps, whose funeral was held today.
Chris came to the North East as a TV producer on the landmark Tyne Tees Television show, The Tube. He was known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of popular culture, collaborating with Lindisfarne musician Ray Laidlaw on projects including the Tyne Idols bus tours - celebrating North East musical heritage.
At today's service in Durham, artists joined Chris's family, friends and former colleagues.
They came to remember a much-loved man, whose enthusiasm and remarkable depth of knowledge made an impact on everyone he knew.
