Flying Scotsman returning to County Durham
The Flying Scotsman is returning to County Durham this evening.
The iconic locomotive will travel from the National Railway Museum in York to Locomotion at Shildon, as the museum celebrates its 15th anniversary.
Nearly 2.5 million people have come through the attraction's doors in what is the world's first railway town.
In the same year, the National Railway Museum purchased the Flying Scotsman for £2.3 million on behalf of the nation.
Its decade long restoration has been one of the most complex and lengthy overhauls of its kind.
