Little boy injured on rollercoaster now 'breathing independently' and his 'condition continues to improve'
The condition of a little boy, being treated in hospital after being injured at Lightwater Valley, is said to be improving.
The seven-year-old is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary after being injured on The Twister rollercoaster.
Witnesses at the park claimed to see the child fall from the ride at Lightwater Valley Theme Park near Ripon on Thursday 30 May 2019. The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation.
The child was treated at the scene for what were initially believed at to be non-life threatening injuries. He was then airlifted to hospital where his condition was later described as critical but stable.
On Sunday, North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman updated that the young boy is now breathing independently and his condition continues to improve.
North Yorkshire Police is assisting the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation.
