Student, 20, died in accident on same ride at Lightwater Valley theme park in 2001
It is not the first time the Twister at Lightwater Valley theme park has hit the headlines.
In 2001, 20-year-old Gemma Savage died after two carriages on the ride - then called the TreetopTwister - smashed into each other.
Student Gemma, from Wath-upon-Dearne, South Yorkshire, was on a day out with friends from Durham University when the tragedy happened.
The theme park owner and an electrician later admitted health and safety breaches and were fined.
And in 2015, a teen theme park worker spoke of her terror after a colleague activated the ride as a joke while she checked it and she had to cling on for her life.
Lightwater Valley describes the ride as one full of "seriously tight turns".
It goes on to say: "(It gives) riders the impression that they might not make it around the next corner, with the threat of plummeting into the tree tops being a constant source of tension for parents (and amusement for the kids)!
"With serious amounts of anticipation, tight turns and swift drops, watch out for the ride cars unhooking on the lower level as the spinning steps up a gear."
Lightwater Valley was founded by Mr Robert Staveley and initially evolved from a small farm attraction.
The park has about 40 other rides and attracts about 500,000 visitors a year.
