Dippy the dinosaur at the Great North Museum Newcastle as part of UK tour

  • The finishing touches are being made to Dippy the dinosaur before the exhibition opens to the public tomorrow.

  • Tickets are free, and he'll be here in the North East until October.

  • Dippy normally lives in London, but he's on a nationwide tour.

Dippy the dinosaur has arrived at the Great North Museum, and will be on display until October.

He's the famous replica of a diplodocus skeleton which is normally on display at the Natural History Museum in London, but he's on a nationwide tour of museums.

He's been in London since 1905.

The model will be on display here until the 6th October and has already visited Dorset County Museum, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Ulster Museum and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow.

The exhibition has been a huge boost for the museums it's already visited.

Dippy will go on to visit Cardiff, Rochdale, and Norwich.
