Sunderland through to Wembley final

Sunderland are going to Wembley to fight for a place in the Championship.

The Black Cats played Portsmouth away at Fratton Park tonight in the second leg of the League One Play-off semi-final holding Pompey to a 0-0 draw.

Sunderland though held a 1-0 advantage from the last week's opening leg, which came courtesy of Chris Maguire's strike,

It ultimately proved enough to carry the Black Cats through to the play-off final as Portsmouth were unable to find the breakthrough they needed.

Sunderland will now face either Charlton or Doncaster at Wembley on May 26 to determine who will play in the Championship next season.
