Police investigating the disappearance of a Teesside woman 12 months ago, say they're certain that people in the community have information to help uncover what happened to her.

43-year-old Naheed Khan was last seen in early May 2018, and following months of enquiries into her disappearance detectives declared that they were launching a murder investigation earlier this year.

Monday 6th May 2019 marks one year since missing Naheed Khan’s bank account was last accessed.

Money was withdrawn from her account at an ATM machine at Adils Pizzeria at the junction of Marton Road and Southfield Road in Middlesbrough at 5:04pm on Sunday 6th May 2018 (a Bank Holiday weekend).

Over the last year, a team of dedicated officers have worked tirelessly in a bid to try and find her and so far have conducted the following:

  • · Almost 3,000 lines of inquiry

  • · Taken 378 statements from witnesses

  • · Completed 450 house-to-house enquiries

  • · 6,500 items recovered for evidential assessment

  • · 900 telephone numbers logged for investigation

  • · Identified over 1,500 potential witnesses

  • · Nearly 80 vehicles have been recorded and investigated

  • · Reached over 600,000 people via Facebook with appeals/ releases

  • · Various sites/ properties have been searched

  • · Thousands of posters & beer mats with Naheed’s photo distributed

  • · Over 350 third party organisations are also assisting the enquiry.
