Fire Chief takes to social media to condemn thieves who broke into fire station

The Chief Executive for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service has criticised thieves who burgled a station on Friday night.

Chris Lowther, who is Chief Fire Officer for the force, took to social media to condemn the actions of people who broke into West Denton Fire Station and stole items.

In the tweet, Chris Lowther expressed his disbelief, adding that his firefighters are there to protect the community.

Northumbria Police are investigating the break in, to try and fine those responsible.
