NUFC complete permanent signing of Miguel Almirón
Newcastle United have completed the permanent signing of forward Miguel Almirón from Atlanta United.
The 24-year-old joins the Magpies from the Major League Soccer side for an undisclosed fee, penning a five-and-a-half-year deal which will keep him at St. James’ Park until June 2024.
Paraguayan international Almirón – who has 13 caps for his country – netted 13 goals and 13 assists to help Atlanta win the 2018 MLS Cup.
He will wear the squad number 24 for the Magpies.
Newcastle United sign Antonio Barreca on loan
Antonio Barreca has joined Newcastle United on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season.
The former Italy under-21 international has signed a deal with an option for the Magpies to sign him permanently from his parent club, Monaco, at the end of the campaign.
Barreca, 23, is a left-back who progressed through the ranks at Torino to become an established starter in Serie A.
He joined Monaco last summer, but the French club have endured a difficult season in Ligue 1 and Rafa Benítez has moved to bring him to St. James' Park for the remainder of the campaign.
Newcastle United winger Callum Roberts on loan to Colchester United
Newcastle United winger Callum Roberts is to leave the club, to join League Two side Colchester United on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has linked up with John McGreal’s men and will remain at the JobServe Community Stadium for the remainder of the current campaign in what will be his third loan spell away from St. James’ Park.
The England Under-20 international has been with the Magpies since the age of eight, and made his senior debut against Leicester City in the FA Cup in January 2015.

SAFC complete loan signing of Celtic winger Lewis Morgan
Arriving from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic, 22-year-old Lewis Morgan has moved to the Stadium of Light until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
Morgan began his career with Rangers before moving to St Mirren in 2013, and he played a starring role for Jack Ross’ Buddies during the 2017-18 season, as the Paisley-based side clinched the Scottish Championship title.
The winger, who has made 13 appearances for Celtic in all competitions this season, says he can’t wait to get started on Wearside.
