Five arrested on suspicion of murder in Middlesbrough
A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a man in Middlesbrough.
Police were called to an address on Eston High Street, Eston, at around 8.30pm on December 26.
A man, believed to be aged in his thirties, had suffered serious injuries and died shortly after officers arrived at the scene. He has not been formally identified.
Police do not believe there is a risk to the wider public. Officers will remain in the area to reassure residents while the inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death continue.
Three men, aged 29, 30 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody. A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder at the same time has been released without charge.
Detectives have now also arrested a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of murder and she remains in police custody.
