Man dies after a crash on the A69 in Northumberland

A man has died after being involved in a crash with a lorry on the A69 in Northumberland.

A man has died after being involved in a crash with a lorry on the A69 in Northumberland.

At 1.43am on Sunday 23, Northumbria police received a report of a two vehicle collision on the A69 near to East Wharmley Farm, east of Haydon Bridge.

A white Peugot van and a Mercedes heavy goods vehicle were involved.

Part of the road was closed for more than 7 hours which the road was cleared.

Sadly the man who was driving the Peugeot van died at the scene of the crash. Specialist Police officers are now supporting his family through this difficult time.

The driver of the lorry was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who was in the area and might have dashcam footage.
