Plans for a new hospital in Berwick have been announced by Northumbria Healthcare. The stand-alone-hospital will be a replacement for the current Infirmary.
It follows criticism from members of the public about what was initially on offer and it replaces previously announced plans for a joint development with Northumberland County Council on a single site (Swan Centre).
Full details of the new plan are not yet available but discussions are on-going with further announcements expected soon.
Feedback showed concern from the public regarding what was on offer and whether it was enough.
