A woman has suffered minor injuries after a gas canister exploded at Teesside Park.

It happened at the Hog Roast Company van at 10:50am on Sunday, 8 July.

Police officers and the fire service attended the scene and the fire has now been put out.

Roads into Teesside Park were closed and the surrounding areas had to be evacuated as a safety precaution.

Cleveland Police said: "Officers would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst they deal with the incident and will provide an update once Teesside Park has reopened."
